The privacy bit…
Here at The Alphabet Show (https://thealphabetshow.org), we use a subscription service to collect email addresses for those who wish to have the show sent to their inboxes on a monthly basis. We will not use those email addresses for any other purpose whatsoever, other than for the subscription list. We will not share those email addresses with anyone else (unless legally obliged to do so.) We’ll keep those email addresses indefinitely, but will delete them from our records when you unsubscribe from the subscription list, or request it via an email: mail@thealphabetshow.org.
Comments on the site will be moderated. If permitted – be nice, people! – all messages will remain in the comments forms, unless an individual requests that we remove his/her comment. In which case, we will do so as soon as possible.
Other than that, we have zero interest in retaining anything else of your personal or impersonal data. In fact, not only do we have no interest, but we have deep concerns about such activity. We believe that too many State and commercial bodies – especially the ‘big tech’ companies that dominate the online world – are being intrusive, amoral and exploitative in the way they collect data about internet users, and track them for marketing or monitoring purposes. If you’re of a similar mind, you might like to check out Restore Privacy – a great website with lots of useful information about these issues.
Now, having said all that, there are bits of software on this website that will automatically collect some data when you visit this site, via cookies and/or analytics. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do about that. Further information about the data that will be collected is below.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are collected to help spam detection. After approval of your comment, your profile picture – if you have one – is visible to the public in the context of your comment. The depiction of your profile picture is facilitated by Gravatar. Here is their privacy policy. Visitor comments may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (i.e. images, audio players.) Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content.
Plug-ins
The subscription form on this website is a plug-in provided by WPForms. User cookies are not used with this form, and user details are not collected. But here is their privacy policy. Loginizer is a WordPress plug-in installed on this website to help protect it from spam. Here is the relevant privacy policy. The ‘theme’ for this website is provided by Responsive, software owned by CyberChimps Inc. Here is their cookies policy.
